I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get any work done with all this going on:
It all started out so innocently with just a few things here and there. Now they have taken over. sometimes I can barely get to my keyboard.
It's like a Micro sized alien invasion going on in here.
Oh well, back to work! But first, maybe I need to arrange a few things over in the corner...
Everyone should be lucky enough to have a desk like yours!
ReplyDeleteI bet you just made this to show off that you have Safeguard, and the Japanese universe ultras.
ReplyDeleteWhat? No way. I was totally showing off that I have Grandus.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the Micronauts and Microman representing! Ever notice that Robotman/Biotron, Takara's first big robot toy, has Prime's colors, and even "transforms"?
ReplyDeleteI really gotta take new Mr. Grey photos soon.
I see you have Battle Beasts, nice!!
ReplyDeleteHow big is your collection?
Transformers and Micros go hand in hand for me. Mr. Grey is my favorite non-TF toy of all time.
ReplyDeleteI love Battle Beasts too. As for how many i have; I don't have a count, but I know it's not enough! And even less weapons. Sad really...
Hmmm, maybe I should try this with my desk, make it look like I have a scaled down version of a multiversal Decepticon/Predacon invasion when I get a couple more of them. Maybe a nice little stand off between Inferno, G1 Soundwave and Lugnut or the Starscreams plotting against their Megatrons(for those who have Starscreams, yeeessss) and then themselves.
ReplyDeleteI see alot of stuff, but clearly no Lugnut! Mr. Derrick, please, tell me that your Lugnut was just taking a bath at the time and didn't get in time for the photo instead of you not having a Lugnut at all!
ReplyDeleteLugnut is on the shelf on the other side of the office, hanging out with the Decepticons.
ReplyDeleteThough, on the subject of Lugnut, do you hope we can one day get a considerably bigger toy of him? After all, the mighty and glorious Megatron would probably find his reduced size would either be a hindrance in battle or that his blind zeal is *extra* concentrated. I have the Voyager figure and I think he's awesome, I was just curious since Bulkhead got a Leader Class figure and they were both roughly the same size.
ReplyDeleteThe Voyager Lugnut is great, but I would not say no to a larger figure. I think the 'Bros would probably have to sell many many Voyager Lugnuts to convince them that the character is popular enough to make him over in a larger size class.
ReplyDeleteWhile we're talking about Lugnut, I noticed that he looks ALOT like G1 Whirl, was that intentional?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Derrick, one of the reasons Lugnut's toy is so small is because of his toy-mace and wings using ALOT of plastic, so yeah, do you think that maybe a Cybertronian toy for him would have less plastic waste, in turn, making a larger figure?
Hey, Mr Wyatt
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if Springer igoing to get the Animated treatment
both Botcon and Universe don't triple change, don't have proper G1 Springer paintjob, no car mode. Therefore, Animated Springer would turn into a hovercraft or flying car a la Batmobile from Batman Beyond.
I have a small hording of Battle Beast weapons. I'll see what I have and send pics.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't thinking of G1 Whirl when I designed Lugnut. I was just trying to make him look less human. I'm no engineer, but it seems like adding Lugnut's weapon mass back into his legs would just make him taller, and by doing that make him look much less like the show model. But I'm probably not the person to ask about that, my understanding of the engineering process for transformations is really limited.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to have Springer in Animated. I have even done sketches of him in the style. But there are some problems reconciling him being a triple changer and a flying Autobot. Blitzwing's instability obviously stems from his triple changing ability. And Autobots just don't fly in TFA. So, I don't know.
Yeesh, and I have problems just putting a couple of toys on my desk.
ReplyDeleteLet's see...aside from what's been mentioned, I spy an Egg Leo, a Microman Lady, a Standard-version of Jet Silver from Goldoran, several robots from Wataru (I think), the box to...a GDP version of Omega Supreme(?), a Yattaman #2 figure, a bunch of those transforming cup ramen/udon robots, a Steel Jieg, a Captain Shark and a...Godam? Only robot I know with its own drool cup.
I don't recognize the mecha with the little alien grays. I'm almost certain the dazed-looking blue robot with the yellow bow tie is from some Time Bokan series. The gray robot next to Mainframe looks familiar, but I can't quite place it.
Did I miss any of the highlights, Derrick?
Doug
Nice to hear from you Doug!
ReplyDeleteThe grey alien is a Microman figure called Mr. Grey. He is a tiny alien in a mech suit and his UFO transforms into a turtle. Every Transformers fan should own this toy. So good! Anyway, the blue robot is a Robodachi robot named Robo Q, the grey robot near Mainframe is Cosmo Plasma's robot from the Microman MicroBorg series. I'm not sure what Wataru is, so I can't tell you if that's right or not.
Let's see, you missed the Diaclone Dia-train, Micronauts Alphatron and Antron, CMS Dai Atlas, and AcroHyde.
My desk is a Takara wonderland.
Good to be here!
ReplyDeleteI'd not heard of Mr. Grey before, though I noticed him mentioned earlier in the thread. I know a little about Robodachi, but my MicroBorg knowledge was sadly lacking, I see.
Wataru's a group of three anime series that ran between the late '80s and late '90s, with some audio dramas and an OVA series too: http://tinyurl.com/5lbt7z It was slightly mangled into Keith Courage for the TurboGrafx system back in the day. I thought it was the source of the source of the Franken-head robot next to Robo-Q and the red robot just to the right of the ramen group. However, all the Wataru toy merchandise was by Bandai, so if your desk is strictly Takara, then those two must be from something else. Maybe more Time Bokan stuff; they seem about the right level of whimsy.
>Diaclone Dia-train,
I have that one, too, so I should think I'd know it. Hmm...no, I'm still not seeing it in the photos.
>Micronauts Alphatron and Antron,
I saw Membros but had forgotten Antron. I had to look up Alphatron; I think I recognize him now behind G1 Ironhide's MARB sled.
>CMS Dai Atlas,
Saw him just behind Jet Silver, but somehow I thought he'd already been mentioned.
>and AcroHyde.
I'd likewise forgotten about this Microman LED Powers figure. I'm not sure if I spot him in the pics, either. Is he the clear-red object under Safeguard's left arm?
Doug
Holy sheets! Those are a lot of toys!
ReplyDeleteGREAT COLLECTION!!!
The TA-I bath statue made me laugh. I didn't think anyone actually owned that!
ReplyDeleteand i thought my work desk was bad lol
ReplyDeletecan i come over and play?
ReplyDelete-teresa
As long as you bring your own Transformers!
ReplyDeleteMr. Derrick, if you like Transformers and you like Microman, then you'll love http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Magnificus and http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ga'mede. Their shared bio even makes reference Micronauts, the Marvel Comics version of Micromen.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I already have them!
