Oh man, I bet this made the day of Internet Personality Vangelius and all of Omega Spreem's wimmins, and remember kiddies, don't be stealin' Spreem's wimmins! Can we expect to see the Spreem Cyclone if you can work him in somewhere?

Oh, commissions... I don't know. I am terribly bad with ever finishing drawings for people. I still owe one guy a drawing from two years ago! Well, shoot me an email and we can discuss.

Ha! Are you going to do a Spreem color variant too?

Mr. Wyatt, the wiki would like to know whether or not the rock monsters were a reference to the Rock Lords. Could you possibly help us out?

I didn't know Omega Supreme was the lead singer of Queen. Awesome. :/

All joking aside, can you enlighten us with some of your character design techniques - re: this amazing redesign of Omega Supreme. How do you get such a fantastic feeling of scale? Even though he's not next to anything, he feels so damn big!

I LOVE SUPREEM! I feel very disco right now.

monkeytoad I can answer that, its the head size. The magic is in the proportions.

head to body ratio.

You, sir, are made of win slathered on delicious and healthy whole-grain-awesome toast.

Never can I hear that guys name without wanting to go to Tacobell. His name just sounds so much like something from off their menus. Coincidence?

Once you make that association it's all over. It can never be unthought.

Oh, I am so going to have toast right now. Great idea!

LOL! Spreem sounds his mighty gong, and everyone makes a run for the border. Now I want to replace his Autobot symbol with the Taco Bell logo!

Thanks anonymous (cool name btw),

I get that the small head makes him feel large -as well as the increased surface detail - I just wanted to hear DJW's personal insight on how he did it. If DJW wants to explain... :)

Oh yeah, sorry. The small head definitely helps, it is all the contrast between the big and small shapes that gives you the feeling of scale. I also made Omega much more detailed than the normal TFA design (at least for season 1 and 2).

Do it Derrick! Grant Spreem the Taco Bell logo. We need more corporate sponsor Transformers. Dispenser and the Dew bots must be lonely, being the only Transformers to represent a form a nourishment in this cold corporate run society.

Ha ha, maybe Spreem gets that reaction in the way he announces it.

I AM SPREEEEEEEM!!! Would definitely creep me out.

Ha ha you'd seriously consider adding such a logo to any bot? That would rock so hard. I'd probably die laughing. It wouldn't be any worse than Mickey Prime and Tacobell theme transformers would so get you guys on that sponsor list.

You must do whatever you can to, if an Omega Supreme toy is made, get this to be its recolour

Also, we need Energon Omega Spreem as well

Mr. Wyatt, is there any sort of process you use to make your line art. Or do you even use a program different from photoshop? Do you scan then create line art, use a drawing tablet, or another method? I've been trying to improve my line art, and I wondered if you had any tips?

I know about Omega Supreme, but who is Omega Spreem? Is there any chance that this character will appear in Tranformers Animated later in the season?

6:24 AM
Blogger antarctic said...

Spreem was actually an Action Master Elite (Euro/Australasia-market transforming Action Master) version of Omega Supreme with an oddly spelled name. TFWiki.net is still fixing all the fallout from bad server admin, but enough's been restored that you can read up on it in the Toys section of Omega Supreme's page there.

And of course, you can see the link to Omega Spreem's toy page on tfu.info just under his image on the main Delightful Tedium page.

Speaking of recolors of character model sheets...

What's with "Envyous Starscream" (Dirge) and "Gluttonous Starscream" (Thrust)?

Dear Mr. Wyatt, I know this comment will be too much for you, but you sir, are the art director of Transformers Animated. Therefore, you have leverage in Cartoon Network. Here is my idea for The rumored season 4; if it does not lift off turn it into a spinoff series! You can call it Transformers: Animated: Heroes. If not, make the main characters Rodimus Prime and his team as they have adventures across the universe as well as make the antagonists Team Charr. Again, I know this is too much, but please submit this idea to your fellow directos. Signed,
Mark Wells
