Secret Origins!

Did anyone catch this? As Sumdac touches the unusually small protoform, he gets quite a shock, resulting in his signature white "s" streak of hair!

HOLY...!!!

How did I miss that?! I ALWAYS catch these little things in cartoons.

Attention to details like this are exactly why I LOVE this show, Derrick :D

Did not notice that. Cool. Does that also explain why he stole those 100 dalmatian puppies?

I personally did not notice it at first, until my son (he's 5) showed it to me. We went back and watched it again and he pointed it out. Kids are perceptive.

I'd like to know how he gets his hair to stand up like that.

Yeah I saw that,(the second time I watched "Transwarped") by the way how do you get a transformer proform so small?

Is that like the one little guy (who speaks giberrish)from the movie?

I noticed it too, it was really quick but I caught it. Before that scene, I always assumed it was there because of his age.

@monkeytoad
You mean he missed one?

Sorry I meant 101 Dalmatians. Stupid joke now corrected. ;)

I do love Sumdac's design. He's goofy and the white hilight is stylin'. Does he get a spacesuit when he travels with Sari to Cyberton?

I just saw "Three's a Crowd" (the Animated episode), and wanted to know if you could tell us who Dirt Boss's voice actor was. For some reason, instead of showing the cast for this episode the credits showed the cast for the entire second season, meaning no Dirt Boss.

Hey, Wyatt

The credits for "Three's A Crowd" didn't list the VA for Dirt Boss anywhere I could see them.

Would you be able to provide that info?

Also, will the names for the clones be used this season, or will they continue to just be nameless?

5:15 PM

My mother noticed that.

Yeah that's right, mamma likes Animated, you got a problem with that mook?

Talking about problems, who voiced Dirt Boss!? The credits were all screwed!

Hey, what do you think of

?

I've been working really hard on getting as much sourced as possible, and having it as accurate to what we know as we can. (It's not as good as tfwiki, obviously) Is there any glaring mistakes we've made, and is there any non-spoiler info you'd feel like filling in?

Again, thanks for your help, and thanks for the greatest series since Beast Wars!

so mR. Wyatt what about that snowplow truck in ep. 14 & ep.19? That's the question I want to ask you..is he going to be autobot or decepticon?

Hey Derrick, I've never noticed this before, and maybe it is coincidence, but is Lugnut influenced at all by Blot, another loyal Decepticon foot soldier. The head of the monster alt mode bears some resemblance (as does the colour and overall silhouette).

With the recently leaked episode, we still haven't seen Sari since Transwarped, are we at least going to see her in Five Servos of Doom or Predacons Rising?

Don't let the Sari fans down! ;3;

3:22 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Having watched the leaked episode (don't worry, all the real fans of the show are going to watch it again when it's aired properly), it's kind of upsetting that Sari hasn't been seen since Transwarped. All that spotlight on her and suddenly there's two episodes in a row without her?

How long are the Sari fans going to have to hold their breaths before we get to see her again?

3:43 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow Shockwave really does number on Ultra Magnus. You all really did a good job of making sentinel one of the most unlikeable characters ever. But I say that as a compliment. With Maguns gone does that make Sentinel leader? Will Shockwave use Magnus's hammer as a rallying tool to push the decepticons to victory? And will Starscream ever get those trix and his body? I guess we will have to wait and stayed tuned. Love the show and where its heading.

Im fine with their being no Sari myself. Focusing on the transformers is what I like
Sari is ok, but in smaller doses the show is about the transformers afterall. Great season.

Shockwave is quickly becoming my favorite character in animated. He is on the warpath, no not warpath the character. Im glad(no offense) that the episode got leaked because I got to watch it without my roommate being here.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeesh...people, try not to spoil it for everyone.

Derick, I heard that the leak was possible because Cartoon Network's online streaming posts the episodes early, and without any kind of security. You should definitely talk to them about either posting the episodes closer to the premiere, or possibly making the addresses a random alphanumeric string instead of just stuff like "tfa_34_pt1.flv".

Heck, I mean just throwing a random letter in there for every upload would pretty much keep leaks from happening.

I'm wondering where Sari is as well.

Probably still adapting to the sudden changes. Hopefully we get to see her next episode.

Transwarped related, but not Sumdac related. What does Alpha Trion do for the Autobot Council? I mean, he just kinda sat there and stared at Shockwave/Longarm. I have a feeling he's important, but I'm just curious as to how important...or is he in charge of the Fanservice in the Animated universe?

5:01 PM
Blogger Derrick J. Wyatt said...

Alpha Trion is head of all of the civilian guilds that make up the non military portion of the Autobot High Council. I guess this sort of makes him like a "vice-Magnus."

5:08 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ah, so he is there to represent the guys like Optimus and his crew, the jet twins before they were jets, and pretty much anyone without a rank or an elite guard badge? Makes me wonder how he'd feel about the Autobot war crimes or the military's secret experiments that make Ultra Magnus view the non-militant 'bots as expendable.

5:28 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just a question for simple curiosity...
Does Alpha Trion has something to do with Sari and her mysterious appearance on Sumdac´s Lab? If you analyze it actually makes sense since in G1 he had a respect and curiosity for humans and organic beings.

Derrick, man...You gotta go kick some ass over at CN. Now they're putting up "Five Servos of Doom" on their easily-hacked site.

10:10 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey, Derrick, you already knew about the Wasp leak (judging by your Twitter), but apparently Five Servos has been leaked also. I just watched a bit of it (up to a certain red Autobot), then stopped because I don't want spoilers like last season.

If you're wondering, they're coming from CN apparently. CN's been uploading new episodes one by one on an unsecure server on their website, and some of the fans are accessing those files and distributing them. I'd tell them something before they keep uploading episodes.

11:17 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow....umm, Derick, you guys need to encrypt those streaming episode files as soon as possible. There's apparently been another leak already.

It sucks, too, because this kind of thing might annoy CN so much that it would be impossible to get a Animated-like series.

On another note - you said earlier that Blackout was part of some "Decepticon Heavy Brigade". Is that a special rank he has due to his bodyframe, or is that just the name of Strika's team?

Also, do Rodimus, Optimus, or Megatron's teams have names?

11:55 AM

Hey there huge warpath fan here and I was weak and watched the recently leaked five servos of doom. I was wondering will this awesome incarnation of warpath show up again in season three? Also does beachcomber?

On your twitter you mention that the Intel HQ is "The Metroplex". Does this mean that it is the ''character'' Metroplex, like was done with Omega Supreme, or merely a shout-out like Tigatron Stadium, that Sludge Oil Refinery place, etc.?

Thanks!

I'm guessing Sari is still recharging from that little overload she had.

I love your work, but this is killing me...what is the name of the episode where the human forms of the Autobots will show up? I am totally losing a bet about that. Seriously, I'm losing gas money here. I love those kinds of episodes and a friend of mine keeps saying that it'll never air.

C.S. stories: I hear that there's going to be a two part episode called "Human Error" pretty soon.

Considering that the GI Joe movie is coming up pretty quick, I'm hoping for a cameo made by Cobra Commander, much like the original "Only Human" episode of G1 Transformers.

Even if there's no GI Joe cameo (though I believe Mr. Wyatt said "no comment" before when he was asked about such a thing), can you imagine what a new GI Joe cartoon would be like under the art direction of Derrick? WOW!

Can Baroness be as lovable as Sari, please? ^.^

Hello there Mr. Wyatt. I was visiting some sites where they are saying that the future of Animated or the possible origins of the All Spark and Magnus hammer were placed on the art panels or maybe tainted glass in the hall where Magnus was found dying and where the autobot leaders meet. Is there any truth to these rumors? Did you guys place clues in those works of autobot art?

Where is Sari!?! She is my favorite character and now she suddenly disappears! Please at least tell me what happened to her, or what has she been doing since the last time she saw the Autobots. Training for future battles, studying, investigating about her origins.

Blogger antarctic said...

Guys, could we PLEASE avoid any further spoilers here from the leaked episodes before they air? Bad enough Derrick has to hear about it happening, but do you have to make his blog another source of the spoiled material? Yeah, it's just a character name, not a big spoiler, etc. It's still a matter of principle and respect for Derrick as one of the show's staff.

I have been enjoying the Animated episodes that I have seen. I am still trying to pick through some missed episodes but I just start from Season #1 and work my way through.

Keep up the good work. I am hoping to see more Blitzwing, Swindle, Hot Shot, Red Alert, Brawn, Rodimus Prime, and Cliffjumper. I think I am getting used to Sentinal Prime. He is not that bad, that big jerk. Ha ha!

Thanks for all the good times!

Wow! I did not catch that!

I also have a question.

On the package bio for the Target exclusive Sunstorm toy, it says,

"Yet another clone of Starscream has appeared on Earth to threaten the Autobots. Sunstorm is a cackling madman, determined to destroy everything in his path."

Yet in the TV show he is extremely loyal

Does he have anything to do with the Sunstorm clone in the TV show, or is he a completely different character?

Well, lots of "where's Sari?" complaints here, so maybe this will get some attention:

Going back to a quote from your Twitter concerning the lack of Sari this season, "@SariSumdac My you look so young again! Because certain parties requested a reduction of your presence."

I just find it a little odd that, who I assume to be the producers, would take away the one character, that EVERY Transformers fan wants to be.

To be "the loner that gets to be the solitary friend of the Autobots, teaching them the ways of human life and making their own impression of humanity on them. Then you find out that you're actually one of them and have cool powers." -Anonymous

I hope the fans and producers alike will take this to heart the next time she's of any concern.

12:08 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think the "Certain Parties" are the parts of the fandom that didn't like her or the Key instead of the producers. I mean, lots of fans where whining about the Key or Sari in general during the first two seasons...

11:55 PM
Anonymous Flashdisk said...

Maybe....But not everyone disliked Sari(with or without key). I'm one of the ones that are interested in her character growth and progress.

I kind of like the character just as I like her more robotic cousins.

So hopefully we get to see her more in the next eps because there seems to be something missing in the animated autobot family without her.

3:27 AM
Anonymous Flashdisk said...

Sari coming into his life must have been quite a change for him.

I wonder what Isaac Sumdac is now thinking? Is there a chance that he's frightened of losing Sari now that beings from planet where she came from have come? Her own kin. It must really be a terrible feeling when you think that your only family might be leaving you. That's why he's so willing to help out Bulkhead and the Autobots during the "Three's a Crowd"... maybe he thinks that if he can make the space bridge he doesn't have to face such a consequence.

Mr. Wyatt, I was just wondering how much of the Cybertronian population are prejeduiced against organics and how would they react to techno-organics? Is Sentinel Prime one of the few who don't like organics or are there a lot more like him on Cybertron?

6:48 AM

Awesome, Super-powered Sari! Too bad she goes crazy and almost skewers poor Bumblebee. That freaked me out a little. However, she was likely just as freaked. Bring back her character, she is too fun. By the way, anyone notice that her protoform was tiny compared to the protoforms you see in Five Servos? Any comments on that?

5:58 PM
Blogger Prime_R. said...

eh, actaully, no I didn't >> Interesting though. That happened to someone else, in another show before, can't recall at the moment. Wasn't X-Men (since I've read some of the other comments)

Oh well.

Maybe she was supposed to be a prototype minicon. Or maybe she was supposed to be like an "add-on" like how Laserbeak and Ravage were for Soundwave, as little cassettes? Will we solve the mystery? At this rate, with her a no show for several episodes, we will never know.
