Zone.

Now that we have been officially announced, I thought I would go ahead and post some Transformers drawings I did a few years ago. Somewhere around 2002-2003. I have been a huge fan of Transformers since the beginning. I have hundreds of the toys and just about every book and comic from here and from Japan. I also have TF drawings I've done over the years starting when I was about 12. Someday I'll have to dig up the really old ones, but for now, something from a little more recent time.

Most of the above drawings are just random heads that I made up, not based on any existing characters. Below are some Beast Machines Optimus Primal.

*Note: none of this has anything to do whatsoever with Transformers: Zone, I just couldn't think of a better name for the post.

That BM Primal is really great!

What really great is that it would be perfect to be animated.

Nice stuff Derrick! The Optimus Primal looks really good. Some of the robot heads remind me of Gobots. The one looks right out of Gundam. Very slick!

Sweet.
That one on the bottom left looks like The Flash... well, you know, if he were a Transformer.

That's so great! One of my biggest hopes for this new show is that fans of the original Transformers, having now grown up with kids of their own, will want to watch the show with the next generation of fans.

I like the old crusty Transformer head. I am not knowledgable in the Transformers' universe, so I do not know his name. I will refer to him as "Crusty".

Derrick... I just saw the preview from the SDCC. If I see you ANYTIME in the near future I'll giving you a hug. Your designs are FREAKIN' AWESOME! Holy S***!!! That was so beautiful. The Dinobots look great too! The little girl character, her bike or scooter transforms into a rocket pack? Sweet. You definitely got the spirit of the original in this series. WOO-HOO!!!!!!

If you give us an Animated Jhiaxus, I will worship you as a god. I mean this.

Also, a while back after the Dinobot concept art you said we'd see that four-armed design make an appearance.
Is that Animated Waspinator? (The toy, not the one we've seen so far in the show)

Derrick, did you design the face of universe powerglide? That drawing on the top right looks suspiciously like the toy design. Or maybe they "borrowed" the design from your blog....

It was Hasbro designer Bill Rawley who did the new Powerglide. It's probably less likely that he was looking at my blog then we were both looking at/remembering similar past TF designs.

I can see that. Just noticed a big similarity and was curious. Both head designs are great!
